The deadline to complete any outstanding Continuing Education (CE) requirements for 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022 was August 31, 2023 (8/31/2023).

If your birthday is between January 1 and August 31, the deadline to complete 2023 CE requirements was also August 31, 2023 (8/31/2023).

After August 31, 2023 (8/31/2023), the deadline to complete annual CE is your birthday.

If you did not complete your outstanding CE by August 31, 2023 (8/31/2023):

  • Consumer Direct Care Network Washington (CDWA) will not permit you to work as an Individual Provider (IP) on or after September 1, 2023 (9/1/2023).
  • CDWA will not pay you for any hours worked on or after September 1, 2023 (9/1/2023).
  • You cannot enter service time. This includes through the CareAttend app, the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system, and the DirectMyCare web portal.
  • For 60 days after August 31, 2023 (8/31/2023), you can still enter training time.

After you meet your CE requirements, CDWA will resume paying you for hours worked as an IP. CDWA will not pay you back pay for any hours worked during the time you were out of compliance.

How to Return to Compliance

You should complete your outstanding CE as soon as possible.

If you complete your CE with SEIU 775 Benefits Group:

  • Please allow five days for completion to reflect in our system.
  • If CE completion is not reflected correctly after five days, submit an IP Training/Credential Correction request in Workday. Detailed instructions are available here. It may take a few days for your records to be updated.
  • After completion is verified in our system, you may enter hours worked back to the date of CE completion.

If you complete your CE with another approved training program:

  • Submit an IP Training/Credential Correction request in Workday and upload your Certificate of Completion. Detailed instructions are available here. It may take a few days for your records to be updated.
  • After completion is verified in our system, you may enter hours worked back to the date of CE completion.
