Apply to Be an Individual Provider (IP)/Caregiver
Apply today to bring expert care, personalized support, and meaningful connection to those who need it most. As an IP, you will assist Clients with activities of daily living. Responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with mobility, bathing, and grooming
- Assisting with getting dressed, eating, and toileting
- Transporting to and from appointments, errands, and activities
- Light housekeeping, meal prep, and medication reminders
- Monitoring and reporting changes in a Client’s health, behavior, and overall needs
- Addressing Client needs with respect and attention to safety
- Other authorized duties as assigned

Paid training
PTO accrued at 1 hour per 23 hours worked

Starting pay of $23.54-27.28/hour

What is required to be an Individual Provider (IP)?
Requirements include:
- Being 18 years or older.
- Legally able to work in the United States.
- Completion of a Background Check and Required Training (Choose from the categories at the left to know more)
- Not being named on any of the Medicaid exclusion lists.

Do IPs need an email address to get hired?
Yes, IPs need an email address to complete the hiring materials in Workday. They also need an email address to access the Consumer Direct Care Network (CDWA) DirectMyCare web portal. There are many free email providers available to use. Here are some instructions for four free providers.
Do Parent Providers need a fingerprint check and a background check to get hired?
Yes. All IPs, including Parent Providers, are required to have a background check at the time of hire. A fingerprint background check must be completed within 120 days of their Okay to Provide Care date. More information can be found on our Background Check FAQ section .
Do all IPs have to go through a CDWA orientation?
Is the CDWA orientation online?
Can I be an IP for my spouse?
No, the Client’s spouse typically cannot be an IP. Exceptions include being an IP for WA Cares Fund Beneficiaries and IPs who provide care for a chore services Client or Clients on the Veteran Directed Program.

Can parents be an IP for their child who is a minor?
No. Natural, step, or adoptive parents cannot be IPs for their children who are under 18. For more information, please review WAC 388-115-0540.
I am a foster parent who provides personal care or skills acquisition training to a child residing in my licensed foster home. Can I be an IP?
No. For more information, please review WAC 388-71-0540.
